It may only be an exhibition, but the clash between legendary boxer Floyd Mayweather and YouTube star Logan Paul promises to be one of the biggest fight events of the summer. The two men will enter the ring on Sunday night in Miami Gardens, Florida in the main event of a card that will air live on Showtime PPV.
Mayweather has not had an official fight since his TKO win over Conor McGregor in August 2017, the victory running his career record to 50-0. He fought a three-round exhibition bout against kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa, easily scoring a first round TKO. Mayweather has insisted that he is retired and just looking to take fights to entertain fans — though he did express an interest in a rematch with McGregor during the media day for Sunday’s fight.
Paul is 0-1 as a professional fighter, losing to fellow YouTuber KSI in November 2019. His younger brother Jake has become a big draw as a boxer, scoring three knockout wins in his three professional bouts while Logan has been focused on the fight with Mayweather, a fight he believes he will win by being six inches and 50 pounds bigger than Mayweather.

The two fighters officially stepped on the scale on Saturday night with Paul weighing in at 189.5 pounds, 10 pounds less than he did for his only official professional bout against KSI in November 2019. Mayweather, meanwhile, came in at 155 pounds, which was at the top limits of the weight classes he competed in professionally. This is the heaviest opponent by far that Mayweather has taken on in his career.
Plus, Jarrett Hurd is back in a middleweight contest when he squares off with Luis Arias in a featured contest. Hurd, the former unified champion at junior middleweight, is looking to get back into title contention as he takes on a tough foe in Arias. However, the two agreed to fight six pounds heavier than the 154-pound limit after Hurd was having difficulty with the weight cut.
And former NFL receiver Chad Johnson will make his boxing debut in an exhibition when he faces former MMA and Bare Knuckle FC fighter Brian Maxwell to open the festivities. Johnson has stayed in shape during his retired life from football and enlisted the help of Jermell and Jermall Charlo to help with his training for this debut.
